Papapietro Perry Winery
Papapietro Perry winery began in a garage in San Francisco with friends Bruce Perry and Ben Papapietro who took up winemaking as a hobby. Along with their wives, Renae and Yolanda, they shared a love of Pinot Noir and wanted to be able to drink it every day. The only way they could afford to do that was to make it themselves. And so the adventure began.
Ben and Bruce had both made wine with their grandfathers, and like them, they had a talent for it. After retiring from their day jobs, they succumbed to the appeals from family and friends to start a winery. Renae and Yolanda joined and made it a family affair. Renae runs Winery Operations and Yolanda handles our distributors.
When asked what kind of wines we make, we always smile and say “great wines”. We source fruit from the finest growers in the Russian River and Anderson Valleys and Sonoma Coast. Our long standing agreements with our growers enable us to be in the vineyard throughout the year guiding the growing process.
Our cellar maintains an unpretentious and welcoming ambiance, just like the old days in Ben’s garage. The same vibe carries through to the tasting room where you’ll hear “We take our wine seriously, but not ourselves”.
Thirty years of winemaking is expertly delivered in every bottle of Papapietro Perry wine. We remain small in order to preserve our hands-on winemaking techniques. By keeping production small, we’ve kept quality high, leading to 90+ scores consistently.
